Reserve your space now, for just £8 per car!!
The TVRCC has the pleasure of announcing another of the highlights of our 60th anniversary calendar. On Sunday the 20th of July, Waddesdon Manor will be the dramatic setting for a big TVRCC gathering.
The Club have been offered the exclusive opportunity of parking in front of the Manor and throughout the grounds of this glorious residence in order to enjoy the delights of the house and gardens. There is also a beautiful aviary full of rare birds that are part of an ongoing conservation project so bring your camera.
The house will be open for us to explore the rooms, artwork and antiques. There may even be the opportunity for wine tasting in the cellars (please indicate if you're interested when booking so that we can gauge interest - the cost of this will be £15 per person, payable on the day).
The shop is overflowing with wonderful gifts, wine and local produce plus there's a restaurant serving a seasonal menu. Please feel free to bring your comfy chairs and a picnic if you wish.
We are also on the lookout for some willing volunteers to assist with parking on the day. Please indicate when booking if you're able to help and we'll get back to you to confirm details.
The two hard and fast rules are that cars must be in place by 10am sharp and cannot leave until 5pm. This is purely in the interests of safety, as Waddesdon Manor receives a large number of visitors daily. Additional parking is available in the public carpark if you can't stay until 5pm so everyone is welcome (there is a small charge for parking on the public car park). Waddesdon Manor is dog friendly so you're encouraged to bring your pup passengers too.
If you're not familiar with Waddesdon Manor, this Grade I listed house was built in the style of a French châteaux, between 1874 and 1889. Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild regarded the Manor as a weekend residence for entertaining and to house his collection of arts and antiquities. As the manor and estate have passed through three generations of the Rothschild family, the contents of the house have expanded to become one of the most rare and valuable collections in the world.
You may recognise Waddesdon Manor as its appeared in films including Never Say Never Again (1983);The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008) and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011) plus a number of television programmes including Downton Abbey (2011) and The Crown (2016) to name but a few.
Pencil the date in your calendar and we'll look forward to seeing you there.
